spanish-academy — week of 2026-07-27
Course logistics drove most of this week. A new morning cohort opened for the beginner level, so I taught the assistant about it — and then a few days later had to correct it, because the schedule I’d given it was wrong on both the days it meets and its start date. That’s the second time bad schedule data has reached customers through the assistant, and it’s pushing me toward keeping course details in one place rather than duplicated into the assistant’s knowledge.
I also stopped the assistant quoting prices for one of the children’s courses while that pricing is unsettled, and converted the adult version of the same course from a signup page into a waitlist, since there’s no cohort running for it yet.
The last piece was tone. I’d been testing prompt variations outside the app and merged the ones that held up. I also softened how the assistant delivers a limit: when it can’t answer something or has to hold a line, it now says so plainly and offers a next step instead of sounding like it’s closing the conversation.
