ptycoin — week of 2026-08-03

The daily run got a spine this week. Instead of stepping through review, merge, social assets, and publish by hand, there’s now a single orchestrated path that moves a day’s pieces from draft to live in order and stops when a stage fails rather than half-shipping.

Most of the effort still went into the review pass. This week’s additions were mostly about Spanish: formal address leaking into copy that should be informal, proper nouns getting anglicized, and idioms translated word for word. I added a check for arithmetic in flow comparisons, where two figures were being netted in the wrong direction, and another for product write-ups that soft-pedaled a real trade-off.

The corrections were the uncomfortable kind. A security piece named the wrong vulnerability as the one being exploited and repeated guidance the vendor had already retracted. Another had to fix the scale of an earlier event in a summary table. Both went out and came back within a day.

Cover art kept needing second passes, so the image tooling now fails loudly on a refusal instead of quietly producing nothing usable. Markets, news, guides, and policy all ran daily.
