ptycoin — week of 2026-08-10

Two threads this week: search and the review pass.

On search, I stopped writing for search. The style guide now says to name things precisely — the actual product, the actual rule, the actual number — rather than pad headlines with terms I hope someone types. The evergreen guides got re-angled to match what people are actually asking, and I fixed a structural mistake where reference material with no news date was being marked up as news articles.

On the review pass, the accumulated list of failure modes had grown past the point of being useful, so I consolidated it and gave the triage step more room to work. The cover-generation prompt got fixed too, after a run of illustrations came back with garbled signage and invented figures.

The rest was daily correction at the usual rate: Spanish number formatting and gender agreement, intraday market snapshots that had gone stale between drafting and merge, a chart caption describing bars that weren’t there, and a release date I couldn’t verify. Markets, news, guides, and policy shipped every day.
