ptycoin — week of 2026-08-31

Another content week. Nothing changed on the site itself.

Coverage leaned toward regulation and payment rails:

  • a guide to receiving money in Mexico with stablecoins over the local interbank transfer system
  • a policy piece on a Brazilian bill that would make crypto providers keep client assets separate
  • news on remittance funding, a central bank’s crypto threat-alert partnership, a crackdown on unlicensed trading in Southeast Asia, and a BIS argument that stablecoins don’t work as money at scale
  • on the projects side, a profile of a Brazilian Bitcoin income ETF

An exploit story needed a follow-up the same week after the chain restarted and rolled back. I refreshed the original instead of letting it stand as written.

Corrections: a markets piece had a session-range error, a news piece got a direct quote in place of a paraphrase, and a policy cover got a proper asset mark. One cover took three tries. The first didn’t read as crypto at all and the next had a ghosted duplicate wordmark.
